Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko's government has sent out an alert to residents of the county warning of a crackdown that will take place on Friday night.
The notice seen by Kenyans.co.ke outlined that the city's inspectorate unit would conduct a sting operation against illegal dumping of garbage and noise pollution.
Narrowing down the parameters of the operation, Inspectorate Department Deputy Director Peter Mbaya named Westlands and Thika Road as one of the centres of the operation.
"The City Hall, Environment Rapid Response Team, will also step up crackdown on noise pollution following numerous complaints filed by city residents.
"The operation will focus on nightclubs along Langata Road, Thika road and Westlands area. The teams will assemble at City Hall Annex building from 8:30pm," the statement read in part.

Mr Mbaya's statement also cautioned revellers and residents of some estates that their officers will start patrolling at 9 p.m.
"The Nairobi City County Government will tonight (Friday) from 9 p.m. conduct a major operation against illegal dumping of garbage in Huruma, Westlands and Upper Hill areas," the statement read.
A week earlier, Governor Sonko's team shut down operations at two popular nightclubs within the county leading members of the public to speculate that the premises were breaching the ban on Shisha smoking.
Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, however, Nairobi County Director of Communications Job Mwaura explained that B-Club and the Space Lounge in Kilimani area were closed due to public outcry.
"It's true. It was because they are in residential areas," Mr Mwaura stated.
