Former Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo on Tuesday finally spoke on reports alleging he had been offered a Cabinet Secretary position by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Speaking during NTV's AM Live show, Mr Midiwo, who is the cousin of National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga, refuted claims that he was among opposition leaders who were approached to take up ministerial jobs.
“No I was not approached for the Cabinet Secretary position,” Midiwo stated.
He, however, highlighted that if President Kenyatta approached him, he would consider it because he wanted to serve his country.

“I am a Kenyan and if I am approached for a Cabinet Secretary position I will consider it because I want to serve this country. I am not saying yes I will accept it or no I will deny it but I will consider it. The other matters we will decide when we reach there,” he asserted.
National Resistance Movement (NRM) self-proclaimed General Miguna Miguna , who was also on the show, did not take Midiwo's position lightly.
Miguna noted that if the former MP accepted the CS job he would be legitimising the Presidency of Mr Kenyatta, which is against NASA's stand.
The NASA brigade has refused to recognise President Kenyatta as the Head of State.

They are planning the swearing-in of Mr Odinga as the People's President using the People's Assembly umbrella.
Raila Odinga declared that he would be sworn in on January 30.
Meanwhile, there has been speculation that President Kenyatta was considering including NASA leaders in his Government.
