Illegal Thing CJ Maraga Did For Uhuru- Miguna Miguna

Former Nairobi gubernatorial candidate Miguna Miguna on Sunday revealed the unlawful thing what the Chief Justice David Maraga did for President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to the renowned politician, the CJ swore in George Kinoti as the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) and Edward Njoroge Mbugua as the Deputy Inspector General in violation of articles 238, 243-246 of the Constitution.

According to the constitution Articles 238, 243-246 provide for the establishment of the National Police Service Commission and spell out its roles.

Although Miguna accused the Cj of committing illegality he did not explain it in relation to the above-mentioned Articles.

The allegation by Miguna come only a day after Kinoti, Mbugua and Noor Gabow took an oath of office which was administered by the registrar of the Judiciary Ms Ann Amadi.

The three went through a vetting process on Thursday morning by the National Police Service Commission led by its chairman, Johnston Kavuludi.

Prior to his appointment as the new Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss, Kinoti was the national police spokesman based in the office of Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.

He is replacing Ndegwa Muhoro, who was relinquished of his duties by President Uhuru Kenyatta during his Cabinet naming two weeks ago.

Muhoro had held the position for around seven years, and was,  posted to the Public Service Commission (PSC) for redeployment.

According to Mr Kavuludi, no lady officer had applied for those available positions other than one lawyer, Milka Murugi, who did not qualify for being a civilian.

“One needs to be a serving police officer. We have got serving female police officers; this is not just an appointive position, it is competitive… so far, unfortunately, no female candidate who is qualified signified interest in the position by applying,” Kavuludi stated during a briefing to journalists on Thursday evening.
