Ferdinand Waititu's Laywer, Harrison Kinyanjui, Takes Him to Court

Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu's lawyer on Tuesday moved to court accusing him of failing to pay legal fees in a case challenging the Governor's academic qualification credentials.

Harrison Kinyanjui applied to court seeking to get an order to stop representing the Governor stating that the client-advocate relationship had been damaged.

In his suit, he noted that he is greatly handicapped to represent the Governor further after he concluded the case filed by Former Governor William Kabogo questioning Waititu's Punjab University degree.

"He has not paid me, and I am unable to proceed with representing him anymore. He never responds to my calls, and I have to stop acting for him in about 15 other cases," he stated.

Kinyanjui explained that following the Governor's instruction, he successfully handled the case and prepared a bill of cost where Kabogo was ordered to pay Waititu Sh5,343,922 Million.

"I furnished a copy of the ruling to him, and he informed me that he would pay my fees as the work was complete, I did not receive any settlement.

"He later informed me that he was reluctant to settle the bill as he was still settling down as the Kiambu Governor," he indicated.

In his petition, Mr Kabogo alleged that Waititu was using another person’s academic papers and did not have any post-primary school education, let alone a degree from the university in India.

The court, however, dismissed the case noting that it lacked jurisdiction to meddle in the dispute.
