Jubilee Vice Chair David Murathe Asks Alfred Keter to Quit the Party

Jubilee Vice Chairman, David Murathe, on Thursday, asked four rebel Members of Parliament (MPs) led by Nandi Hills' Alfred Keter to quit the Party if they feel unhappy.

He made this statement following the dispute that ensued between the four MPs and the Party over House Leadership positions.

The MP alongside Silas Tiren (Moiben), David Bowen Kangongo (Marakwet East) and James Gakuya (Embakasi North) were ousted as leaders of Labour and Social Welfare, Agriculture and Livestock, Environment and Natural Resources and Broadcasting and Library House Committees after a vote of No Confidence was passed in a heated Tuesday meeting.

The MPs expressed that their ouster was a sinister move initiated by cartels within Parliament and the Executive who want to replace them with their preferred individuals.

The four took the battle with Jubilee leaders to court arguing that they were kicked out of their positions in spite of a court order barring the same from happening.

“In any event, no cogent and lawful reason has been given as to why a vote of no confidence would be sufficient against us other than the fact that the executive would prefer certain individuals over us,” they stated through their lawyer Frank Weluwe.

Keter further told High Court's Justice Odunga to take action and ensure the lawmakers were not victimized further.

Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, who Keter recently accused of working with State House to kick him out, maintained that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the matter as it involved the party and its members.
