Jubilee Finally Reacts to Raila's Swearing-in Plan

Jubilee Party, which is led by President Uhuru Kenyatta, on Friday reacted to the National Super Alliance (NASA) swearing-in fete scheduled for January 30.

In what sounded like a mock, the Uhuru-led Party condemned the Opposition for planning to swear in Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka using the nullified August 8 presidential results.

Basing its argument on the Supreme Court Decision that nullified the results, the party argued that it would be irrelevant for the team to use null and void results to swear in the duo.

"They went to court to have the election nullified; they celebrated with song and dance when the election was nullified.

"Now, in a strange turn, they want to swear themselves in based on the results of that same election #NullifiedAndIrrelevant," the Party stated through its Twitter account.

The Opposition announced that it would use results of that election to defiantly inaugurate Odinga and his running mate as leaders of what they call the People's Republic of Kenya.

IEBC declared President Kenyatta the winner with 8,203,290 votes against Odinga's 6,762,224 but the ODM leader maintains he won by 1.4 million votes.

After the NASA leader filed a petition at the Supreme Court, Kenyatta's victory was invalidated, and a repeat one set for October 26.

On Friday, a team led by Siaya Senator James Orengo presented a report on the results of the August 8 election, on which Odinga's January 30 swearing-in will be based.

"This is it. This is the document that contains results of the election in 2017, in which more than 80 percent of Kenyans participated," he stated, adding only 25 percent of registered voters participated in the October 26 re-run.
