Murkomen and Alfred Mutua Disagree Over Kalonzo

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Tuesday disagreed over National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka, who was conspicuously absent during the swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park.

According to Mr Mutua, Mr Musyoka's absence during the fete was a clear indication that he was consistently untrustworthy and proved that he should never be depended upon.

"It is now crystal clear to all that Kalonzo Musyoka has over and over again proven he can never be depended on. Trust him at your own peril," he stated

Although he noted that NASA's swearing-in ceremony was unconstitutional and founded on illegalities, Mutua asserted that it was apparent that the former Vice President was the ultimate betrayer.

Nonetheless, Murkomen, the Senate Majority Leader, seemingly came to the defense of Kalonzo and sharply disagreed with Mutua asking him to either decide whether to attack Kalonzo for betrayal or applaud him for skipping an illegal fete.

"If it was unconstitutional, then he was right to boycott. You can't betray someone by obeying the law.

"You either credit him for doing the right or attack him for betrayal," he asserted.

Musyoka, who caught public attention by skipping the NASA event, defended himself on Wednesday morning citing the withdrawal of his security detail by the government.

"I know there is tension over what happened, Raila took an oath, and I never made it because of understandable circumstances," he stated adding that the state sabotaged all his plans.

"On the eve of the inauguration, Raila decided not to sleep at his place, but I opted to sleep at my place. But on the swearing-in day, the Police took all my bodyguards from my house in Karen; it seemed like a threat," he explained.
