Wiper Crisis Meeting to Discuss Kalonzo’s Fate

Wiper Democratic Movement  (WDM-K) leaders will be meeting on Tuesday to discuss the fate of Kalonzo Musyoko in the National Super Alliance (NASA) after most of them missed the swearing-in of Raila Odinga.

After a week-long of slurs from the coalition's  partners after the party leader missed out on Tuesday’s ‘swearing-in', Wiper will meet to discuss if they will be part of NASA or they will seek out new partners.

Top on the agenda in the meeting is to discuss the ‘swearing-in’ betrayal and ramifications on Wiper’s ability to exact political payback from NASA strongholds in 2022 presidential election.

ODM had castigated Wiper leaders who missed the Tuesday's swearing-in terming it as a betrayal.

However, during a press briefing at Okoa Kenya, Kalonzo stated that missing the swearing-in had been well planned by the coalition and accepted by the four principals.

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr , who is also the Vice-Chairperson of Wiper, maintained that the party would issue a statement on their future plans.

ODM Chair John Mbadi led the attack against Kalonzo, maintaining that there was no space for cowards in NASA.

“There is no cure for a coward. A coward is just a coward, and those who were brave enough made it to Uhuru Park on Tuesday,” Mbadi stated.

However, during a radio interview, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana remarked that ODM had not been fair to Wiper and that its representatives at the oath planning meetings were kept in the dark.

“There was a time we asked for a NASA retreat because there were many who were unsettled ... there are wrinkles in NASA that need to be ironed out first,” Governor Kivutha stated.
