Contrary details also reveal that the engines had a hard time accessing the area because of the narrow roads within Mathare.

According to reports by Standard, the National Disaster Management Unit appealed for emergency support to help contain the fire.

Elsewhere, traders in Rongo, Migori County, counted losses after a fire destroyed their business premises on Friday night.

Rongo police chief Muganda Kisaka stated that they had launched investigations into the cause of the fire.

A week ago, another fire erupted at Raila Village, Mugumoini Ward, Lang'ata leaving at least 70 families homeless.

According to Lang'ata Member of Parliament (MP), Nixon Korir, there were no casualties in the incident..
