5 Times Politicians Arrived in Style to Launch Mediocre Projects [PHOTOS]

Tharaka Nithi Senator, Kithure Kindiki, was on Sunday roasted on social media after landing in a chopper in his county to build a mud classroom.

Kindiki joined locals in laying the foundation stone for the construction of a classroom at Kamutuandu area, Tharaka constituency.

Senator Kindiki is not the only politician to have come under fire due to an embarrassing project- his counterpart- Nyeri Senator Ephraim Maina was once harshly criticised after he arrived in pomp and colour to launch a wooden bridge at Kabaru ward, Kieni East.

Kenyans on social media questioned the logic of the billionaire politician's use of a helicopter to open such a project yet the fuel money would have secured some metal bars to construct a much more secure and sustainable bridge.

Matungulu MP, Stephen Mule also found himself in a tight spot at one time and this is after he gave school going children in his constituency oversized plastic shoes.

Social media went abuzz and mercilessly tore the legislator maintaining that the oversized plastic shoes could not be worn to school and neither could they fit the small children.

The man of the day, however, remains to be former Vihiga Governor, Moses Akaranga. He once held a ceremony and invited members of the fourth estate only to launch 45 mud houses for the residents.  There was a red carpet and a governor's ribbon to add colour to the whole thing.

The County Government, together with the Department of Lands and Housing, started the Social Housing Scheme which online users termed as a joke and disgrace considering the amount of money spent on the ceremony would have facilitated better housing.

Maara South MP, Kareke Mbiuki, in attempt to get social media attention found himself in hot soup after he put a billboard to launch a transformer. Netizens questioned his intentions with many claiming the transformer could have been facilitated by KPLC and he just took credit for it.

Many rebuked the lawmaker for what they termed as using his poor constituents to gain political mileage.
