Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Monday announced that he will sue the state over the ownership of the controversial 500-acre land in Yatta.
The National Super Alliance (NASA) co-principal, who was issued with an eviction notice two weeks ago, dismissed claims that the land belongs to the National Youth Service (NYS).
Kalonzo stated that he bought the land from Petrako Company and therefore the government has no right to take it away as he is the legal owner of the piece of land.
“The land belonged to the defunct Machakos municipality and was later allocated to Petrako by Mwai Kibaki on the presidential decree," Kalonzo noted.

He also divulged that NYS was allocated their own share by former President Mwai Kibaki.
According to the government, the Wiper leader grabbed the land from NYS, claims that have been harshly refuted by the opposition leader.
"The land has never been a property of NYS. Petrako sold it to me,” Kalonzo asserted.
NYS had advertised orders for owners of specific parcels of the land, including Kalonzo, to surrender them within 14 days.
In a notice published by NYS Director General Richard Ndubai, the former Vice President was given 14 days to leave the property or face further action.
Mr Ndubai, however, insisted that in compliance with President Uhuru Kenyatta's directive to reclaim all grabbed NYS lands, the action was taken against the Ukambani kingpin.
"The department, therefore, does not recognize any claim whatsoever that any individual and or entity has over the said parcels of land whether through themselves, their agents, assigns or successors," the notice read in part.
