Miguna Miguna Explains Why NASA Should Be Afraid of New DPP Noordin Haji

Nairobi lawyer Miguna Miguna has poked holes in the appointment of Noordin Haji as Director of Public Prosecutions.

Miguna stated that the fact that Haji was previously a director of the National Intelligence Service (NIS) should worry all parties that are against Jubilee.

"Immediately after the empty "handshake, the DESPOTIC @UKenyatta has appointed an NIS Director as the Director of Public Prosecutions.

"His job is to ILLEGALLY AUTHORISE the abduction, arrest, incommunicado detention, torture and PERSECUTION of all opponents of the @JubileePartyK," wrote Miguna on his Twitter handle.

Miguna was arrested, detained and deported following his involvement in the swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga in January.

Last week, the opposition leader met President Uhuru Kenyatta to bury the hatchet, a move that did not go down well with Miguna.

A seemingly angry Miguna criticised the meeting terming it a move meant to turn Kenya into an authoritarian and despotic Kenyatta and Odinga Monarchy.

According to the lawyer, the meeting between the two was meant to cement the 55-year domination by a few elites and families at the expense of the more than 99 percent of suffering Kenyans.

"Mr Odinga’s unilateral, irrational and erratic decision to betray the fight for electoral justice, the culture of impunity and the abuse of human rights cannot be justified.

"The “reconciliation” is not intended to help the unemployed youth get jobs, and the homeless get housing. It is not intended to help the struggling workers; the professionals and the middle class secure their future and their livelihoods, it is meant to cement the 55-year domination by a few elites and families," he stated.

Lawyer Donald Kipkorir also questioned the appointment of  Haji, demanding to see the CVs of all applicants and how they scored during the interview.

"Chapter 6 is the Heart of Our Constitution: It demands Integrity & Transparency in Public Service.

"Let the DPP Selection Panel publish the CVs of all shortlisted Applicants & how each Panelist scored each Applicant. No lawyer seems to have heard or know Noordin Haji," he stated on Tuesday.

President Kenyatta appointed Mr Haji earlier this week to take up the role that was previously held by current Environment CS Keriako Tobiko.

Prior to his appointment, Haji worked at the National Intelligence Service (NIS) where he rose up through the ranks to become a Deputy Director.
