Rongo MP Reveals Wetangula's Mistake That Pushed for His Ouster

Rongo Member of Parliament Paul Abuor on Saturday revealed the mistake Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula made that pushed for his removal as the Minority Leader in the Senate.

Speaking in Rongo during the disbursement of bursary funds to college students, Mr Abuor noted that the move by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) senators to remove Wetnagula was not just an affair of the ODM senators but of the party.

"The reason we have decided to take action against Senator Wetangula is that once Raila has given directions to be followed, instead of towing the line, he still wants to question and bring a lot of politics into it,” he added.

He further stated that the Memorandum of Understanding signed between ODM, Wiper, Ford Kenya and ANC parties ahead of the 2017 general elections ended when the three NASA co-principals failed to attend the controversial swearing-in of Raila Odinga.

The lawmaker alleged that the marriage between NASA affiliate parties ended on January 30 after the inauguration.

He also insisted that ODM has now decided to pursue its political agenda as a party and not as a coalition partner of NASA since the other principals betrayed them at the moment when Odinga needed them most.

"When we attended the ‘swearing-in’ on January 30, we told Raila that anybody who did not show up on that day like Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi, and Moses Wetangula… any agreement with them ended then.

"Let them not pester us. And come 2022, Raila will again go back to the ballot alone and not with them,” expressed the MP.

However, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday asserted that the NASA coalition is still intact.

He further called on the media to stop propagating that the coalition is divided.
