Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Sunday released a shortlist of people whom he would consider for the Deputy Governor position two months after Polycarp Igathe resigned.
Through a statement on his social media, Sonko asked Nairobians online to help him nominate his deputy from the list of 22 potential suitors.
"Great people of Nairobi, some say politics is about numbers. My FaceBook page has over 1,300,000 fans out of which 925,892 are Nairobians.I believe it is you the great people and God who have the powers of nominating leaders.
"Hence hebu munisaidie hapa (Help me out here)whom do you think deserves to be my Deputy Governor?” he posted on Sunday night.

Among the notable names appearing on the list includes President Uhuru Kenyatta's brother Muhoho Jomo Kenyatta, Royal media TV presenter Anne Kiguta, Self Declared NRM General Miguna Miguna, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris and Current CAS Ministry of Gender and Youth Rachel Shebesh.
Muhoho Jomo Kenyatta is Uhuru's younger brother and is the Executive Chairman of Brookside Dairy and the Deputy Chairman of Commercial Bank of Africa.
He is a graduate of Williams College, Massachusetts, in the USA holding an economics and political science degree.
The younger Kenyatta has however shown no interest in politics often playing his role behind the scenes.
A surprising name on the list was of the immediate Former Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe.
To which one user reacted: "He sacked himself so don't give him the job. Better still you could give me the job governor since I have all the qualifications it takes to be a deputy governor."

Others listed include: Current CEC Education, Youth Affairs and Gender Janet Ouko, Nairobi Businesslady Agnes Kagure Kariuki, Former Minister Bishop Margaret Wanjiru, Former MP Dennis Waweru, Nominated Nairobi Senator Millicent Omanga, Former Town Clerk John Gakuo, Nairobi Lawyer Karen Nyamu, Former KTB Chairman Raymond Matiba, Former PSs James Ole Kiyapi and Irungu Nyakera.
Officials from StateHouse who made the list include: Uhuru's personal secretary Jomo Gecaga, Deputy Chief of Staff at Office of the President Njee Muturi and Deputy State House Comptroller George Kariuki.
Also on the list is former Kamukunji MP and Current EALA member Simon Mbugua whom MCAs accused of running the show at City Hall after Igathe's departure.

On Monday, Governor Sonko assured Kenyans that due process would be followed when choosing his deputy.
Hiyo list ya kutafuta Deputy Governor isiwastue bado itafanyiwa short listing several times till we get one serious candidate (Which loosely translates to: The Deputy governor list should not worry you all. Shortlisting is still being done till we get one serious candidate).
