Kimilili MP Didymus Barasa Explains the Strategy They Will Use to Lock Raila Out of Bungoma

Kimilili Member of Parliament (MP) Didymus Barasa on Wednesday explained how he will ensure that National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga does not visit Bungoma County following the ouster of their Senator, Moses Wetungula

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, Mr Barasa exclaimed that they would do all it takes to bar the Opposition boss from setting foot in the county.

"We will engage in physical confrontations if necessary violence, with him (Raila) if he tries to step his foot on our land," he threatened.

The lawmaker further divulged that since Mr Odinga has continuously treated the Luhya community with disregard, he will see to it that he does not ever visit Bungoma.

"He has mishandled Wetangula the same way he did the late former Vice President Kijana Wamalwa when he left Ford Kenya to form NDP," he told Kenyans.co.ke.

The Jubilee MP called on the NASA co-principal, to join the ruling party since he will be valued while in that camp.

When asked whether Wetangula will be awarded any position if he joins Jubilee, Barasa asserted: "Wetangula will lead the other Luhya leaders in bringing together our people who for a long time have been divided along political lines.

"He will spearhead the reconciliation of our people before the party allocates him another position."

He insisted that Wetangula ought to join Jubilee as they support Deputy President William Ruto for the 2022 General Election.

"Ruto is a better man compared to Raila. He keeps his promises when he makes them. Wetangula should join our team," Mr Barasa added.

Barasa further described himself as the official spokesman of the Bungoma people on controversial matters adding he will see to it that Raila has a 'taste of his own medicine.'

On Saturday during a funds drive, Barasa noted that ODM should not undermine the Ford Kenya leader just because Raila has decided to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

He then warned Raila against visiting Bungoma if Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula is ousted from his position.
