Kenya's Trending Topics on April 3, 2018

Kenyans were on Tuesday engaged in a heated debate over Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, who appeared before the National Security and Administration parliamentary committee.

The CS had been invited by the committee to give a brief on the recent stand-off involving lawyer Miguna Miguna.

On the topic "CS Matiang'i" netizens interrogated three cutting remarks made by the Interior CS when he was questioned.

Here are some of the reactions that were shared.

Dr Matiang'i was categoric with his responses insisting that Miguna declined to have his Canadian passport stamped.

He added that the embattled lawyer was free to return to Kenya and have his national identification card, passport and citizenship reinstated.

Responding to a question on the court order issued by Justice George Odunga, Matiang'i stated: "On demands that I exit or be interdicted because the court found us in contempt of court, that is an active matter in court.

"We have appealed and I don't want to be accused of being in contempt of the same court," he responded.
