Suspended Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO Ezra Chiloba on Tuesday announced his next move following his suspension issued by the commission's Chairman Wafula Chebukati.
In a letter seen by Kenyan.co.ke, Chiloba noted that he is in the process of preparing a handover report in compliance with Chebukati's memo.
He further notified the commission's Vice chairperson Ms Consolata Maina that Mr Marjan Hussein, the current deputy CEO, would take over in his absence.

However, the officer questioned the directive by Chebukati to send him on compulsory leave on claims that the move is to allow for an audit of major procurements last year.
He wrote to the Ms Maina, who is acting in the absence of Chebukati, expressing concern over the way in which the decision to send him home was arrived at.
"As the aggrieved person in this matter, I wish to state that I am not opposed to proceeding on leave. However, you must bear in mind that there are some procedural gaps in that decision leading to injustice and unfairness,” he stated in the letter.
Additionally, Chiloba took issue with the fact that neither he or Mr Hussein was in the meeting in which the decision to send him home was arrived at, "meaning that there was no one to take minutes."
On Monday, Kenyans.co.ke established that the officer had defied this chairman's orders and was working as usual.
His suspension has been marred by controversy with reports indicating that two of the commissioners disputed the move an action supported by two others.
One commissioner is said to have confirmed that the CEO was suspended although the commissioners were yet to receive a copy of the suspension letter.
However, the IEBC secretariat or the commission is yet to issue out any official communication regarding Chiloba's fate.
