Joyce Laboso Reveals Mistakes Isaac Ruto Made as Bomet Governor

Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso on Wednesday expressed her disappointment towards former county bosses, including her predecessor Isaac Ruto.

Speaking at an ICPAK conference in Mombasa, Laboso rebuked Ruto for not fulfilling the promise he made to the people while in office.

She noted: "The first crop of governors could have done better had they not allowed power to get into their heads."

Additionally, she exclaimed that it was the reason why most of the pioneer county bosses failed to retain their seats.

However, the County boss asserted that the new crop of governors are aware of the fact that they are expected to perform and are aware of their mandates as county heads.

"We know what is before us,  the expectations of the public, and the idea that you are in a contract job," she affirmed.

She further reminded her colleagues to be aware that they only have a five-year contract and can be thrown out at the end of their term if they fail to deliver.

"We have learnt from the mistakes committed by our predecessors and have since sobered up, "she mentioned.

The governor, who was invited as the chairperson Finance and Economic Affairs Committee at the Council of Governors, added that the current county bosses have to fulfill the promise that they will change the livelihood of their people, especially women.

Laboso hailed the over Ksh 200 billion allocated to the health sector against county budget of Ksh954 billion.
