Ruto Shamed After Visiting Matiba's Home

Former Starehe MP Aspirant Boniface Mwangi on Thursday hit out at Deputy President William Ruto days after he went to console the late Kenneth Matiba's family.

This came after a Twitter user described the DP as humble and respectful: "This picture of DP @WilliamsRuto condoling with the family of the late Kenneth Matiba at their home speaks volumes.

"Shows the humility, respect and sincere gratitude that the DP had for the late veteran politician."

Mwangi responded: "Guilty body language. Deputy President @WilliamsRuto was part of Youth for Kanu 1992. YK’92 bribed voters and harassed opposition supporters.

"Ruto has been on the wrong side of history since he joined politics in 1992. He also opposed the constitution serving Kenyans today."

The DP on Tuesday met with NASA leader Raila Odinga at the home of the late Matiba.

Sources indicate that Raila arrived at Matiba's Limuru home with Ruto joining the family shortly after to condole with them.

The two leaders who have been considered to be arch-rivals politically were united as they mourned the fallen multi-party democracy hero.

On receiving the news of Matiba's death, Ruto had eulogized: "The country grieves a great man. As the cloud of sadness envelopes us, we pay respect and undying tribute to Kenneth Matiba, an indefatigable proponent of democracy, human rights; a champion of the less privileged and a people's person."

On his part, Raila had stated: "Mama Ida Odinga and I have learnt with deep shock of the passing of second liberation hero Hon. Kenneth Matiba."
