Details of Governor Mike Sonko's Meeting With Kalonzo Musyoka

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Tuesday met Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka where the two discussed development in the county.

In a statement to Kenyans.co.ke, City Hall maintained that the governor briefed Kalonzo on the war he has waged on corruption and doing away with cartels in Nairobi.

“Your Excellency (Kalonzo) we inherited a dead system, in which,  huge amounts of money have been swindled. We have since fixed all the loopholes and we shall not allow graft to thrive in Nairobi," Sonko told Kalonzo.

The former Vice President applauded Governor Sonko's efforts in fighting corruption and providing quality services to Nairobians.

Kalonzo further remarked that Nairobians had elected a hands-on governor and besieged them to allow him to lead them for two terms.

The Wiper leader stated: “You should go for 10 years. What you doing to Nairobians is so remarkable and encouraging."

Sonko also took this opportunity to address cartels who he alleged have ganged up to fight him "over his leadership style because he has sealed all corruption loopholes".

The governor's meeting with Kalonzo comes barely a week after he accompanied NASA leader Raila Odinga to the home of retired President Mwai Kibaki.

Raila is reported to have advised the County boss to ensure that he fulfills the promises he made to the Nairobi residents.
