Murang'a County Public Service Board chairman Titus Kinyanjui Waithaka was on Sunday morning killed in a grisly road accident along Thika Road.

The road crash was as a result of his vehicle hitting a guardrail along the superhighway that tore through the body of the car.

Murang'a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria confirmed the incident though not much information was available at the time of publishing this article.

The Murang'a county official accident was similar to the crash that claimed former Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru in November 2017.

The late governor was involved in an accident in Kabati along the Thika-Kenol Highway.

Gakuru succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the Thika Level 5 Hospital.

The Governor died as medics prepared to airlift him to Nairobi for specialised care.

His driver and bodyguard were also seriously injured in the accident.
