EALA MP Simon Mbugua Reveals Plan by Powerful Forces in Government to Eliminate Him

EALA Member of Parliament Simon Mbugua alleged that his life was in danger for supporting Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.

The lawmaker made the assertions on Sunday after he was blocked from holding a press event at Panafric hotel.

Mbugua revealed he had to change cars four times on his way to give a press conference.

"My life is in danger. Powerful forces in government want to eliminate me because I support DP William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid," the EALA MP stated.

"They are harassing me. I want to tell them that I am ready to die, they can arrest me many times they want," Mbugua told journalists.

He further claimed that a Permanent Secretary was working with powerful people in government to fight and intimidate him over his relations with Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko.

Mbugua demanded a refund of the Ksh30,000 he had paid as booking fee after the management blocked him from holding the news conference.

The EALA legislator further maintained that the hotel was instructed by police not to allow him to address the media at the premises where several DCI officers and police had been deployed.

He was arrested and charged with robbery with violence over an attack on businessman Timothy Muriuki a fortnight ago.
