Terryanne Chebet Appointed CEO of Fanaka TV

Former Citizen TV presenter Terryanne Chebet on Thursday announced that she had been appointed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Fanaka Television.

Through her social media, the prominent media personality described the station as the first 24-hour business Television channel in Kenya.

"Business Television is my life. It is with humility and lots of enthusiasm that I am proud to accept my appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Fanaka Television, the first 24-hour Business Television Channel in Kenya. We will cover business and the economy like in a way that has never been done in Kenya," she wrote on her Instagram.

She revealed that they had embarked on a global benchmarking tour to set their standards to match the best of the best in business journalism.

"Today my team conducted an extensive benchmarking tour of CNBC Africa and Forbes Africa Magazine here in Johannesburg. We look forward to collaborating with sister Business Tv's in Africa and beyond. Welcome to Fanaka Television where we are guided by our motto 'Strictly Business'.

"What a pleasure to once again reconnect with Roberta Naicker, MD CNBC Africa after so many years and the very funny Chris Bishop who I worked with during my days at CNBC Africa," she conveyed.

Earlier in April, outspoken journalist, Larry Madowo joined British owned media BBC as their Business Editor.

He became first-ever non-South African anchor to be based in CNBC Africa’s Johannesburg headquarters where he hosted live market shows Open Exchange, Power Lunch and Closing Bell.

Madowo who has been a victim of cyberbullying indicated that his faith in the internet had been restored after receiving huge support from his followers after commencing on his new job.

"Thanks for all the kind messages on my new chapter. I have received so much love from so many people," Madowo stated.
