DP William Ruto Promises to Help Mike Sonko Fight Cartels in Nairobi

Deputy President William Ruto has declared that he will aid Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko fight cartels in the city as well as develop the County. 

Speaking during an Iftar dinner hosted by the County boss at City Hall on Wednesday evening, the DP noted that the government is committed to ensuring Nairobi changes for the better.

"We are changing the face of Nairobi. It will not remain the same. I assure my brother Sonko that the government will work together with your county government to ensure Nairobi people get what they deserve, especially on the matter of garbage collection,” Ruto exclaimed.

Additionally, the DP stated that the Jubilee administration will see to it that all roads in the city are built to international standards and also the city will be the first to benefit from low housing schedules.

"Nairobi had been forgotten, but recently we issued about 50,000 title deeds to landowners here," mentioned Ruto. 

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who was also at the event, reiterated Ruto's sentiments announcing: "Nairobi contributes a lot to the growth of the country’s GDP. You have a better chance of running the City. About cleanness and on garbage collection, it’s a collective issue.

"That is why I salute Sonko for the war against corruption here in Nairobi. Let us all join hands to fight this vice in our country,” the former Vice President highlighted. 

Speaking on his recent 'hugshake' with Kalonzo, Ruto advised him (Kalonzo) not to be bothered by those who will speak ill of their unity.

"I would like to commend my brother Kalonzo and tell him that ‘Watasema mchana na usiku watalala’ (they will talk during the day and sleep at night). Our meeting in any place is very normal,” Ruto announced. 

Sonko, who hosted the event at City Hall, commented that he will be hosting the celebrations every year because Kenya is a united nation.
