The Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet on Sunday ordered an immediate probe into the abduction of an elected leader in Baringo County.
Silale Ward Member of County Assembly Nelson Lotela was abducted on Sunday evening. Lotela was on his way home from Chemolingot Trading Centre at around 5:30 pm when the incident occurred.
witnesses indicated that one of the vehicles used by the criminals in the abduction of the Representative, who was bundled into a car, is a Black Land Cruiser with a concealed plate.

Eyewitnesses claim the MCA was abducted as he was about to cross River Nginyany before being put in a black Nevara KCA 212B vehicle that drove away under the escort of the Land Cruiser.
Lotela was together with his driver covered with a piece of cloth in their face and were assaulted while trying to resist.
Baringo County Commissioner Henry Wafula on Sunday confirmed the incident stating that sleuths had been deployed to track him and pursue the proceeds of the incident.
Fear has gripped the area given a similar incident that occurred last year in May turned fatal after Churo Amaya MCA Thomas Minito was abducted and found dead.
Minito was kidnapped and his body was later traced in a thicket along Ol Doinyo Sabuk River while in February, two politicians; Pepee Kitambaa who was aspiring Tiaty parliamentary seat and Loyamorok MCA Kibet Cheretei were shot dead at Marigat town.
Members of the public have been asked to volunteer information on the whereabouts of the MCA to the police to aid efforts of rescuing him from the criminals whose motive is yet to be established.
