DP William Ruto, Mandago & Murkomen Sing Hymns in Public Event

An undated video has emerged online of several politicians including Deputy President William Ruto showing off their singing skills by leading hymns during public events.

In the clip, Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen is the first politician singing a classic hymn during the function.

"Eh bwana uniinue, kwa imani nisimame nipande milima yote, eh bwana unipandishe (Oh God lift me up, with faith help me climb all the mountains)," he sang.

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago also got to the podium and showcased his vocal ability singing; "Niseme nini baba ila nakushukuru (What do I say, Lord, other than thank you)."

And finally, it was the Deputy President's turn where he sang "Chakutumaini".

During the National prayer breakfast in May, the DP poked fun at the parliamentary choir when they sang a hymn "Lord of Glory".

The Members of Parliament displayed poor synchronization of the song with a number of the members singing in an off key.

When DP Ruto took to the podium, he could help but joke at the lacklustre performance.

"I was having a chat with the president, he told me that from the singing of these people it is obvious that their talents lie elsewhere," he stated.
