VIDEO: Police Officers Advertise Prophet Owuor in CBD

Sections of Nairobi CBD were brought to a standstill after a group of men believed to be police officers emerged leading a crowd in popularizing a controversial preacher’s upcoming crusade.

The police officers captured in a video that is making rounds on social media were captured asking Nairobians to turn up for the healing crusade to be led by the preacher’s church at central park in Nairobi.

At least three men in traffic police uniform and reflector jackets shocked passersby when they outline preacher rather addressed as the man of God Prophet Owuor’s achievements.

More officers are seen in the video joining their colleagues in advertising the event.

In the video, they criticized city dwellers for going to churches that claim to heal the sick at a fee or by selling items such as oil, handkerchiefs and brooms to unsuspecting believers.

The highly motivated men in police gear appeared determined to have the upcoming crusade a success saying the prophet, unlike the other preachers, would offer his services for free.

They mentioned the Biblical prophets Elijah and Daniel’s healing abilities and likened Owuor’s power to their prophetic work.

Watu wa Nairobi, wacha niwaulize, wale watu wako ushago wanajua nyinyi wa Nairobi ndio mmechanuka sana. Wewe unauziwa kifagio ati uende ufagie mapepo itoke kwa nyumba yako. Kifagio tu ya mbao wewe unauziwa elfu tatu ati itafagia mapepo?" posed one of the officers, as the others cheered in support.

(Nairobians, let me ask you, the people in the village know you as the most enlightened people. You are sold a broom to go sweep demons from your house! A broom that goes for Sh20 can sweep demons out of your house?)

One of them announced that being police offers in Owuor's camp, they had investigated and ascertained that he was indeed a true prophet.

They listed numerous diseases as cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure and mental disorders claiming that the prophet would heal the crusade attendees with the conditions.

When contacted to comment on the matter, Nairobi police commandant Joseph Ole Tito stated that even though he had not seen the video, officers have the right to worship.

He promised to comment on the matter once he takes time to view the video that Kenyans.co.ke shared with his office.
