NTV Finally Unveils Larry Madowo's Replacement as Sidebar Host

NTV Kenya unveiled the journalist who will be replacing their former News anchor and talk show host Larry Madowo.

In a video posted on Wednesday on their official Twitter page, NTV Kenya revealed that Ken Mijungu will replace Larry as the host of Sidebar, a talk show which Madowo used to host.

Sidebar was started by Larry in 2017 where he hosted diverse panels to discuss the current state of affairs in the country.

The show garnered a lot of interest from Kenyans after Madowo banned Gatundu South legislator Moses Kuria and controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna for some of their remarks.

Initially, the show had five NTV journalists where they discussed current affairs but after a while, Madowo took over and hosted analysts and politicians since it was an election year.

In February, Nation Media Group announced it had made changes in its Editorial department as it sought to fully entrench processes for a mobile-first, digitally aligned 360-degree content company.

In the changes announced by Editor-in-Chief Tom Mshindi, the company stated that the new structure would play a key role in achieving the company’s strategy to protect and grow existing businesses.

NMG also created, for both online and print, the Finishing Hub, whose key deliverable will be powerfully researched stories unique to the platforms.

An Email sent by Mshindi read: “Great progress has been made in the past one year but it is imperative that the pace is accelerated and the focus intensified throughout the department.”

The changes saw Pamela Asigi named NTV editor and will be reporting directly to the editor-in-chief.
