On Friday an ODM politician was arrested alongside seven election officials for allegedly being involved in corruption.
Central Sakwa North ward aspirant Dr John Ogol and seven presiding officers were arrested after ODM nomination was marred by chaos.
The by-elections for the ward is set for October 8.

Police from Bondo arrested the eight for allegedly engaging in electoral fraud during the by-election exercise on Friday.
Francis Gomre Quick Response Team Inspector indicated the aspirant and presiding officers were arrested in a house in Nyang’oma sub-location.
According to the Standard, the aspirant was reportedly caught bribing the electoral officials.
"We got information from the public that something fishy was going on before we raided the house and recovered over Sh15,000 that was yet to be distributed to the presiding officers,” stated Gomre.
Returning Officer Dan Choto revealed the presiding officers have been replaced.
Central Sakwa ward seat was declared vacant after MCA Johannes Andiego died while receiving treatment at the Nairobi hospital in May.
The late MCA was the chief whip in the Siaya County Assembly and was serving a second term after being reelected on an ODM ticket during the August 2017 elections.
The party later announced results of the nominination.
