Deputy President William Ruto Welcomes Wiper Move To Work in Government

The Deputy President William Ruto during the weekend lauded Wiper Party leaders for resolving to work with Government.

Speaking during a church service in Machakos, DP Ruto welcomed the move by the party leader Kalonzo Misyoka and welcomed him to work within government circles.

He stated that the Wiper Democratic Movement in its entirety had made a vital decision in their move to back the delivery of the Jubilee Government's Big Four Agenda.

"We welcome the partnership of all parties, most recently the Wiper party. We welcome them so that we can work together as leaders and focus our attention, energy and our efforts in ensuring we transform our country,” held DP Ruto.

Ruto stated that after joining the government, Wiper party leadership will now be occupied with how they'll together with government ensure roads are built and jobs are created for the youth.

“Matters to do with good roads, water, education, jobs, universal healthcare…these are the issues that should now occupy us as leaders as we work together to ensure that our country is better than it is today,” the DP stated.

He further called on leaders across the divide not to concentrate on leadership positions and state jobs but service delivery.

He told the gathering that having concluded the electioneering period, lucky leaders had been awarded and that for those who had been left out,"there is a next time."

Emerging from his Wiper Party national delegates meeting in Karen on Saturday, Kalonzo announced the decision as having been agreed by the membership.

He said this was after the government proved committed in the war against corruption and pledged to support the Head of State to tackle the menace.

"After consultations with our greater membership and party structures, we commit to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta in his fight against corruption as well as his broad agenda of transforming this country under the Big Four agenda,” announced Kalonzo.

Kalonzo did not attend the Sunday church service.
