Mr Mwathi says he had given the man of God at least Kshs3.6 million in cash at his office located at the Neno Evangelism Center.
The money was meant for a house lease deal that would see the preacher rent out his 7-bedroom house to Mwathi for a period of six months.
According to local dailies, Mr Mwathi says the preacher dishonored their agreement soon after receiving the amount paid to him on April 6, 2016.
Ng’ang’a reportedly agreed to lease the house along Kisembe Road in Karen on condition that Njoroge pays rent for six months.
He demanded an additional Kshs900,000 as a deposit on top of the monthly Kshs450,000 rent.
Mwathi intended to have the house so as to host two Germans, one Chinese and a Korean who were to visit him and stay for the six months.
Mwithi told a local publication that, "After two weeks of trying to get the keys from Ng’ang’a, my guests got tired of staying in a hotel and returned abroad."
“My clients were certain that as soon as they land at the airport, I would take them straight to their house in Karen. But every time I went there, the security guard would inform me that he had not been given permission to allow me in,” says Mwithi.

The businessman reported the matter to Central Police Station and the case was booked under OB 50/20/5/17.
He is now seeking to have the preacher charged for obtaining money by false pretense.
When contacted to respond to the claims, the preacher stated that "the man is lying, he was given the key to the house by the agent and I don’t know what went on after that.'
He says that Mr Mwathi turned down the lease agreement after suspecting that the foreigners might have been criminals.
