DP William Ruto Steps In to Save Kenyans From Rogue Matatus

Deputy President William Ruto on Sunday stated that the government will take stern action against businessmen who were abusing the new tax levies on fuel to exploit the people.

Speaking in Narok on Sunday, Ruto remarked that Kenyans had the power and authority to determine the affairs of the country hence the current uproar on increased taxation.

“We have asked the National Transport and Safety Authority to take action against matatus that will be found to exploit Kenyans. Their licenses will be cancelled," the DP stated.

DP Ruto further appealed to Kenyans to play an active role in the development and unity of the country.

"It is healthy that we all make our contribution and work together towards building bridges of friendship, brotherhood, and unity," he added.

Ruto maintained that as the public express their desperation over high taxes, the government is committed to seeing wastage reduced and resources put in viable projects.
