Rongo University Student Found Dead

Another Rongo University student who went missing was found dead on Thursday.

Reports indicated that the body of Kelvin Ngui, who disappeared from the institution on September 19, was found near River Kuja in Kitere, Migori County.

Police in Migori County are investigating the puzzling death of the Fourth Year student at Rongo University.

The body of Kelvin Ngui was found next to a river nearly a month after he disappeared from the Migori campus.

His decomposing body was found next to River Kuja, which is about two kilometres from the university.

Rongo police boss Kibet Kirui stated that although the body was found near the river the student did not die of drowning.

The death of Ngui comes as a shock to the university after the brutal murder of Sharon Otieno, whose body was found in Kodera forest.

Sharon will be laid to rest on Friday after the committee reached an agreement with the family on Tuesday.

Chairman Elijah Opiyo stated that they had agreed to make arrangements for the burial as the court case continued for fear of the burial cost increasing if the same was delayed further.

Sharon’s grandfather Samuel Odege appealed for peace during the burial.

The decision to bury the late student at her grandfather's home is in line with Luo customs since she was not officially married.
