58 Properties Kidero Does Not Want Investigated in Corruption Probe Against Him

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero identified 58 properties in Nairobi and Homa Bay counties he wants anti-corruption investigators barred from looking into in the ongoing case against him.

In a notice of motion, Kidero through his lawyer Prof Tom Ojienda argues that he acquired all the listed properties prior to becoming Governor of Nairobi in 2013.

He wants a property situated along Gigiri road whose LR Number is 7258/48 left out of the probe as he acquired it in 2002.

Kidero also states that he purchased apartment No. A7 on LR No. 991/13 and apartment No. B6 on LR No. 991/17 in 1995.

He further wants Gem Apartments in LR 21/1/36 excluded as he acquired them in 2011.

He goes on to state that Block 91/156 located in Gigiri was purchased in 1991.

Kidero also wants sleuths to keep off apartments in Nairobi Dam Block 91/156 as he bought them in 2004.

Another property he wants excluded is situated along Ndege Road in Karen that was purchased in 2007.

He also lists a maisonette in Nairobi Dam that he acquired in 1987.

Also listed is House No. 29 in Nyari on LR No. 12241/29 which he bought in 1998.

House No.31, also in Nyari with LR No. 12241/31 should be left out, Kidero argues, as he bought it in 1995.

His Muthaiga residential home which he co-owns with his wife Susan was purchased in 2010 and should be excluded from the probe as well, Kidero further noted.

Plot 91 with LR No. 420/191, LR No.10419/17 and 10419/18 also feature on the list having been purchased in 2009 and 1010 respectively.

In addition, he lists five properties in Kogony and 16 in Korando he does not want investigated as he bought them in 2008.

Five more properties in Homa Bay County are also listed.

According to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kidero's assets are worth around Sh9.1 billion.
