The Only 3 Teachers Recognised During KCPE Results Release

Three teachers were accorded special recognition by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Chief Executive Nancy Macharia during the KCPE results release.

Addressing the nation during the event at The Star of the Sea Primary School in Mombasa, the TSC boss noted that although all teachers are heroes, three went beyond the expectations in executing their duties.

"Let me take this opportunity on behalf of the Commission to specifically thank three teachers who gave exemplary service and went beyond the call of duty during the 2018 KCPE exams.

Identifying the three as Belladin Dosio, Boru Dida, and Mohammed Hassan, the CEO indicated that they would be rewarded in accordance with the TSC recognition and awarding policy.

"We will also forward their names for consideration for the Head of State Commendation (HSC).

"These three are just a representation of many others out there whom we are extremely proud of," she added.

According to Macharia, some of the teachers went ahead to report suspected cases of exam cheating to the Education Ministry and other relevant authorities.

Nevertheless, the TSC boss also indicated that the commission would institute disciplinary action against 26 teachers who abetted KCPE irregularities including impersonation and cheating during the exercise.

"We can't allow a few miscreants to destroy the future of our children. They will be dealt with expeditiously and ruthlessly as we have always done," the CEO stated.

Noting that the report had been forwarded by the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), Macharia added that more teachers are likely to join the list as the analysis continues.

"I wish to most sincerely thank the teachers for moulding the future of this country. Its time we sang songs of heroes and teachers are heroes in this country," she concluded.
