I Won't be Defeated in 2022 - DP Ruto Speaks

Deputy President William Ruto on Tuesday indicated that he will not be defeated in the 2022 presidential elections.

Speaking during the launch of Universal Healthcare in Narok County, the DP asked those who will lose to him in 2022 to be ready and willing to concede defeat.

The DP stated that he is ready to battle for the country’s top seat in 2022 at the end of President Uhuru Kenyatta's tenure.

Defending his development tours across the country, Ruto also bashed his political detractors urging them to focus on development matters rather than empty politicking.

Besides, the DP dismissed allegations that his countrywide development tours were part of the 2022 campaigns saying he is entitled to serve all Kenyans.

Telling of those who have been criticizing his ongoing development tours, Ruto noted that the 2022 elections are four years away hence the need to serve the electorate.

Accompanied by Narok Governor Samuel Ole Tunai, Joseph Ole Lenku (Kajiado) and Joyce Laboso (Bomet), Ruto assisted in raising Ksh19 million through the sale of 3,200 goats and sheep.

"From the proceeds, 15,000 people will have access to healthcare. With support from other donors, 50,000 people will now access healthcare through NHIF," the DP noted.

During the exercise, Ruto bought 800 goats at a cost of Ksh 6,000 each to help boost the Narok households in acquiring medical coverage on an annual basis.

The initiative is a duplication of an earlier drive in Kajiado where the DP helped raise over Ksh 29 million during a goat auction dubbed 'Mbuzi Moja, Afya Bora (One goat for better healthcare).
