Celebrated Radio Presenter Alex Mwakideu has been appointed as Head of Radio at Milele FM.
His appointment comes months after Mwakideu ditched Radio Maisha having worked there for eight years.
In the restructuring, Samuel Ngunjiri was also elevated to Deputy Head of Radio.
Confirming the news to Kenyans.co.ke, Mwakideu expressed his excitement on his new job adding that his mission would be to elevate the station to even greater heights.
In his words, "Forget all other Swahili stations, we will take over."
Mediamax's Joyce Gituro sent a congratulatory message to the presenter on social media.
"Congratulations, Alex Mwakideu Head of Radio and Ngunjiri, Deputy Head of Radio on your new roles. May God guide your every step. Together let's take Milele FM higher," she wrote on Instagram.
Mwakideu, who co-hosts the Milele Breakfast Show with comedian Jalang’o, will now perform his executive role as the new year rolls in.
When leaving Radio Maisha earlier in the year, Mwakideu stated, “Whatever has a beginning must come to an end...I will miss Radio Maisha and I will always remember the first day we officially launched this station during my show."
Before joining Radio Maisha, he worked in Mombasa’s Baraka FM from 2000 to 2010.
