The Office the Director of Public Prosecutions has explained why action hasn't been taken despite various sexual harassment allegations against a City pastor identified as Ken Gomeri.
Responding to a question on why the office was quiet despite the matter being raised on social media, ODPP asked for any information that may lead to the pastor's arrest.
On Twitter page, the DPP’s office affirmed that it wasn't asking for the members of the public to investigate the matter but to provide leads that will help in cornering the suspect accused of taking advantage of young girls.
"If you have any information and evidence relating to the same, please send it to publiccomplaints@odpp.go.ke,” the tweet read.
On Sunday, a Twitter user by the name Purity narrated how pastor Gomeri allegedly tried to take advantage of her and her friends three years ago.
She claimed that the stated pastor goes around secondary schools for preaching missions and that is where he takes the opportunity to prey on underage girls.
“Please note that I am not trying to discredit him or get him arrested, I’m just coming out with this story because our silence may have enabled him to take advantage of more girls,” she tweeted.
Following the thread, social influence Xtiandela picked it up and put it on his Telegram channel that has been exposing alleged rot in the society.
Pastor Gomeri later responded accusing Dela of trying to destroy him at a time he was doing well in his career.
“He normally waits after I do something big which bothers him, it’s becoming a force to try and destroy,” part of Gomeri’s response stated.
