Former KTN Anchor Zindzi Kibiku Refutes Claims of Joining Citizen TV

Former KTN Anchor Zindzi Kibiku, on Saturday, addressed reports that she was set to join Citizen TV.

According to various Kenyan media outlets, the soft-spoken anchor was reportedly preparing to replace ex-anchor Joey Muthengi at the Denis Pritt-based media house.

In an exclusive phone call with Kenyans.co.ke, Kibiku rubbished the claims revealing that they were not true.

When asked about her plans after ditching Standard Media Group, she curtly answered, "I have no other plans as of now."

On January 31, 2019, Kibiku announced her departure from KTN after more than four years of service since she joined in 2015.

“August 2015 I joined KTN News team as an intern. As infant as the station was with a goal to be the first 24/HR news network, so was my budding journalism career. They took a chance on me and allowed me to realize my dream while being myself,” she posted on social media.

Zindzi also thanked her audience and the interviewees she had hosted during her shows.

“I meet so many of you amazing people. Thank you for your feedback, picking calls, showing up in studio and teaching me. Today, I say goodbye with a full heart,” she added.

The news anchor co-hosted Youth Cafe with Brian Aseli before she moved to the Morning Express show with Michael Gitonga.

Zindzi is a communication graduate from Daystar University, with experience in online podcasts.
