Caroline Mwatha Goes Missing in Dandora

The family of a vocal human rights activist has sought the help of the public in finding the woman who was last seen on Wednesday, February 6.

Caroline Mwatha, who is the founder member of Dandora Community Justice Center, disappeared from her home in Dandora under mysterious circumstances.

Attempts to trace her movements have proved futile since her phone has been off from Wednesday evening.

Although they have not given up on finding her, Mwatha’s family fears for the worst since she was a strong champion against extra-judicial killings.

International human rights body, Amnesty Kenya, has requested anyone with information on her whereabouts to come forward.

The matter has already been reported to the police who are helping in tracing her.

This incident brought back the memories of the brutal killing of a lawyer who had taken up a case on extra-judicial killing by the police.

Willie Kimani, 32, a taxi driver and his client had been missing for a week before their bodies were found in Ol-Donyo Sabuk River.

It later emerged that the three men were executed by a senior police officer and his two colleagues.
