Why Governor Jackson Mandago is Scared of Meeting Raila Odinga

Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago has revealed that he is afraid of meeting ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga.

While speaking at a public function on May 7, the second-term governor explained that he spoke ill of the AU  envoy in the run-up to the 2017 elections.

As such, he would be lost for words if he ever bumped into Raila at State House.

“I spoke so bad about Raila Odinga last time but if I was to be invited to State House what will I tell him when I find him there? Politics is not for the weak,” he stated.

Mandago went on to explain that the 2017 elections had taught him not to take things to heart.

He stated that Raila had frustrated Uhuru during the polls yet he still made amends with him and ended their rivalry.

"Tulipiga kura ya rais tukashinda, korti ikasema turudie nikazunguka kaunti 19 kuomba kura. Na ule mtu ametuhangaisha hapa ni Raila. (We voted for the president and won but the court said the election should be repeated. I traversed 19 counties while seeking votes. The person who was frustrating us was Raila.

"Handshake ikafika. Raila sasa ndio ako kwa bedroom State House. Sasa wewe, bado unajiweka pressure ya siasa ya nini? Hi siasa achana nayo. Hata mimi nimeinua mikono. (The handshake came and now Raila is in the bedroom in State House, why are you piling pressure on yourselves? Stay away from politics. I have also given up)," he explained.

Mandago explained that the famous March 9, 2018 handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta was God's plan since no one saw it coming.
