Ruto's Allies Unveil Master Plan to Fight Govt

Politicians allied to DP William Ruto have adopted various measures to fight the government and people who are opposed to his 2022 presidential bid.

Sunday Nation reported that the legislators, who are mainly from Central Kenya, weren't too happy with the attacks that have been targeting them. As such, they have vowed to retaliate.

They reportedly want to use public rallies, the floors of the National Assembly and the Senate, television, and radio stations to silence their critics and drum up support for Ruto.

According to the publication, the lawmakers are also planning to table a bill in Parliament to scrap a confidential vote which is under the Interior ministry.

Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro explained that he will sponsor a bill to do away with the vote since it was being used to fund anti-Ruto campaigns.

“Since the fund (confidential expenditure) has been politically used against the deputy president, I will be proposing the scrapping of the same to ensure prudent management of public resources and to rein in some rogue public servants who are using the kitty to undermine Ruto,” he stated.

Commenting on the issue, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho asserted that the fund was not being used to scuttle Ruto's political plans.

He also dared the MPs to table the bill in Parliament, adding that he was keen on seeing where it would go.

"That is their prerogative. If they feel it (the expenditure) is not useful for our country, they can scrap it.

"We have no problem. They can do as they please. Let’s see how far that gets," he stated.
