President Uhuru Kenyatta once visited the late football legend Joe Kadenge when he was ailing in 2017.
Kadenge had for a long time wished to meet President Kenyatta before he died.
He was living at Mariakani estate in Nairobi's South B where the president arrived shortly past 6.20pm.
Uhuru was accompanied by First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko and the then Sports CS Hassan Wario.
The president presented the football legend with a comprehensive NHIF card allowing him to be treated at any hospital of his choice.
The Head of State also donated Ksh 2 million to Kadenge's family.
The visit lasted 40 minutes despite being interrupted by a power blackout on two occasions, forcing Uhuru's security detail to find alternative lighting.
Uhuru did not leave empty-handed as Kadenge gifted him a signed copy of his book, Joe Kadenge: the Life of a Football Legend, as well as a football and branded kits.
In 2010, Joe was invited by Fifa to represent East and Central Africa in gracing the opening ceremony of the World Cup finals in South Africa.
In 2012, he was appointed the First Kenya Football Ambassador by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF).
