Ezekiel Mutua Narrates Painful Heart Condition Giving Him Sleepless Nights

Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) CEO, Ezekiel Mutua, gave Kenyans a striking revelation on a heart condition that has been ailing him recently.

Through a lengthy Facebook post, the bold KFCB boss narrated how he was almost going for a cardiac surgery abroad following his doctor's recommendation.

"I have had the most dreadful week in my life and if the devil had his way I would probably by now have had surgery to remove an alleged clot in my heart," he began his post.

He further added that he had initially gone to the hospital thinking it was a normal chest infection but was surprised to find there was more to it.

"I had checked myself into a hospital a week ago with minor chest congestion and flu. But after some tests, I would be declared an emergency case with an urgent referral to a cardiologist.

"A flurry of tests would follow and the medical team attending to me recommended admission and a subsequent heart operation," Mutua posted.

Mutua adds that he was not convinced and went on a hunt for a second opinion with doctors based abroad.

"I walked out of the ward and went home late at night, in delirium and feeling bad to have defied the doctor, but strongly convinced that I needed a second opinion. I spent the whole week talking to medical professionals locally and abroad," he added.

The situation was taken so seriously that the KFCB board of directors urged him to go to India for a thorough check-up, but this never happened because he met a cardiologist who helped him out.

"My Board of Directors recommended that I travel to India for a thorough check up. While this was happening, I went about my business as if nothing was wrong with me.

"On Saturday afternoon I got a WhatsApp message from a doctor friend referring me to one Dr Saleem Bagha, a Consultant Physician/Cardiologist at the Aga Khan University Hospital Doctor's Plaza," Mutua wistfully recounted.

He went on to state that he was feeling better following the doctor's good care and had resumed his duties.

"I am being attended to as an outpatient and in two days, there's so much change. Dr Bagha has even become a family friend, the kind you want to keep for life. May God bless him for me!" the KFCB boss concluded.
