Sonko Rescues Family Evicted at Night

On Friday night, Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, jumped to the rescue of a Nairobi family that had been raided by notorious people who started to evict them from their building.

Sonko answered a distress call from one of the family members and later stormed the area to check on the situation. He, however, missed out on catching the assailants, who he stated were on his radar.

“This is totally unacceptable under my administration. We shall deal with all the crooks involved. They use fake names like this Caroline,” Sonko stated after inquiring from the family who a listed Caroline claimed to be the landlord of the building.

The family denied having any whereabouts on the purported landlord listed on an alleged court eviction order.

They also confirmed that they had a court restriction order.

“There is nothing they will do. They won’t take you anywhere. I know these guys listed here. They have a court suit against them for grabbing land in Makadara” Sonko revealed.

He further warned the family to have their court papers stored safely as the goons would later return, portraying themselves as policemen, so as to take away the court papers, before the court proceeding scheduled for Monday.

Last month, the governor unveiled two contacts that one could use to report complaints.

The Nairobi County Communications Director, Jacob Elkanah, confirmed that the two contacts were the governor's personal numbers.

"Ukiona subcounty na ward admin (If you see that the sub-county and the ward administrator) in your area sleeping on their job by allowing uncollected garbage to pile up, just call, text or send WhatsApp messages to 0739555555 or 0722886600 for necessary action," the governor's post read.
