Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, launched a new political outfit at a colourful event on Monday.
Dubbed as the Young Wiper Democrats (YWD), the former vice president maintained that the move was meant to secure a future for the youth.
"Today we unveiled the Young Wiper Democrats (YWD), the Youth Wing of the Wiper Democratic Movement-Kenya," he tweeted.
Kalonzo also reiterated his belief that it would be the younger generation, that would finally lead the charge to transform, as well as shape the country's future.
"This Movement believes in the power of our young people to transform this country," he divulged.
The latest changes within the Wiper Party comes barely a week since Kalonzo announced several changes in the party's leadership.
Chirau Ali Mwakwere was appointed as the new Acting National Chairman on July 28, 2019, following the publicized falling-out between Kalonzo and the former chair and current Kibwezi Governor, Kivutha Kibwana.
Anne Kanyi was named as the vice-chair during the same event, with the party leader going on to state that all other vacant positions within the party would be filled, at a date that he was yet to communicate.
Wiper Party's recent changes came after an extensive retreat by the party leadership, held at the Kenya School of Law at the end of July 2019.
