DCI Unearth Car Theft Syndicate, Nab Two [PHOTOS]

Directorate of Criminal Investigations on Tuesday, September 3 2019, unearthed a car theft syndicate and arrested two suspects.

The Kasarani based detectives raided a go down in Kariobangi South. Car parts including Engines, doors and number plates were recovered.

The detectives stated that the raids followed interrogation of three other suspects that had been arrested earlier.

Other reports revealed that the detectives conducted another raid in a warehouse in Kayole and recovered more spare parts.

The two godowns are said to be owned by the same individual who escaped the laid trap.

The sleuths revealed that the cartels stole vehicles from Kasarani and its environs, drove them to the godowns and dismantled them for spare parts.

It is believed that the suspects may have been stealing motor vehicles, dismantle them and sell them as spare parts. Further investigations are ongoing. The suspects in custody pending arraignment,” DCI tweeted.

Kenyans came in to urge the DCI ton follow up the case and ensure that those who purchase the parts for sale in their auto spare shops were also nabbed.

On the same note, the DCI announced that they had nabbed two foreigners and a Kenyan with fake Ksh1000 new notes. 

Ogundeji Abiodun (Nigerian), Tazisong Fabian (Congolese) and Elizabeth Mueni aged 41, 41 & 50 yrs respectively were today arrested in Yatta, Machakos County.

Materials used in making fake currencies were also confiscated.
