ODM Youth Chase Away Mudavadi's Man From Kibra

Rowdy Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Youth angrily narrowed down on Amani National Congress (ANC) Kibra aspirant, Eliud Owalo, forcing him to flee to save his life.

According to Ghetto Radio, Musalia Mudavadi's party flagbearer who was on a campaign trail in Kibra had his convoy attacked near Olympics area by a group of ODM youth who had a meeting at the nearby African Inland Church (AIC).

The youth who were shouting ODM slogans first blocked his convoy before they accosted him forcing Owalo to get onto a motorbike to flee from the area.

His brigade attempted to engage the fiery youth only to give up after they were overwhelmed.

Owalo harshly condemned the incident while speaking with Kenyans.co.ke on phone.

"Personally I want to conduct an issue-based campaign devoid of violence. We need to create an enabling environment for the people of Kibra to elect a candidate of their choice. They should do so based on the candidate's track record and agenda. Let us have peaceful campaigns.

"I do not want to be involved with violence. I would also want aspirants to put their ideas on the table and deviate from a contest of personalities. My stronghold is my ideas and not my community," Owalo responded.

Amani National Congress and ODM are affiliates of National Super Alliance, with Raila Odinga and Musalia Mudavadi as co-principals.

Owalo resigned from ODM in August 2019 to join ANC and launched his race against ODM's Imran Okoth in Kibra by-election.

ODM meanwhile stamped its authority in Kibra, stating that it would not allow outsiders to clinch a seat they alleged rightfully belonged to Raila Odinga's party as reported by People Daily

"We are serious about these campaigns but we want to clarify that Kibra is fully an ODM stronghold. Other parties do not stand a chance in this race, we do not have a single competitor," Junet Mohamed, Suna East MP, stated as ODM launched its official campaign strategy team for Imran Okoth.

He further attacked Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of propaganda after he chose McDonald Mariga as Jubilee's flagbearer.

"Ruto does not have votes in Kibra, he is testing waters for 2022 and we will not allow him to win. We will conduct a door-to-door campaign," Junet lashed out.

The other leaders castigated ANC and Ford Kenya leaders, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula respectively, for rushing to Kibra to field a candidate stating that they were disrespectful to Raila Odinga.

Several other leaders who were present were MPs John Mbadi (Suba), Tim Wanyonyi (Westlands) Babu Owino (Embakasi East).
