UPDATE: Slain Dutch Businessman Tob Cohen will be buried on Monday, September 23, in a private ceremony at the Jewish Cemetery after lawyers of family, widow Sarah Wairimu reached a consensus.
On Wednesday, September 19, Cohen's widow Sarah Wairimu and sister Gabrielle agreed that the late dutch businessmen needed to be buried as soon as possible.
Addressing journalists at Chiromo mortuary after the autopsy was conducted, their lawyers, Philip Murgor (representing Sarah) and Cliff Ombeta (representing Gabrielle) stated that the family were keen to have Tob's body laid to rest.
"We all agree that the late Tob Cohen needs to be laid to rest as quickly as possible in a dignified manner those are the wishes of Sarah and her sister," Murgor told the press.
Echoing his sentiments, Ombeta stated that there was a possibility that the widow and sister would agree on a way forward in a meeting that would be held on Thursday.
The lawyers were, however, tight-lipped on the results of the autopsy stating that more tests needed to be done by the pathologists.
"We are aware of what the results are, we cannot comment on. The results are out but more tests need to be done," Ombeta stated.
Earlier in the day, there was a tug over Cohen's body with Wairimu opposing the release of the businessman’s body to his sister for burial.
On Wednesday, she wrote to Chiromo Mortuary disputing the handover of Tob’s remains to his sister Gabrielle.
Cohen’s wife argued that her sister in law did have the authority to bury the departed Dutchman.
