Ruto to Splash Billions in Sonko's Backyard

Deputy President William Ruto promised goodies to Nairobi residents stating that the government will splash billions in Governor Mike Sonko's backyard.

Speaking on Friday, September 20, at Tom Mboya Primary School in Dandora, the DP stated that the government will use approximately Ksh8 billion for water projects and improvement of the sewerage system in Nairobi county as part of the country’s infrastructural development.

“We are committed to ensuring equitable water supply in all parts of Nairobi as part of our infrastructural development in the country,” Ruto stated as reported by The Star

According to Ruto, the country's economy would grow and transform lives when people get access to water.

The DP further promised that in December, he and President Uhuru Kenyatta will issue more title deeds to Eastlands residents, after the National Land Commission Board is in place.

Vetting of new commissioners and chairman for NLC is underway.

"Development in Nairobi is a must and the Big Four agenda will oversee the transformation in the city, ” Ruto opined.

He further reiterated that he will continue traversing the country, pushing for development as it was part of his duty as Deputy President.

"This is my work to ensure that all projects of the government are in place, ” Ruto asserted. 

Deputy President William Ruto's allies aligned to the tanga tanga faction in Jubilee Party have planned mega countrywide rallies to drum support for Ruto ahead of 2022.

According to The Star, the first rally is scheduled for Nakuru's Afraha Stadium on October 6. After Nakuru, the team is expected to pitch camp in Murang'a, Kericho, Uasin Gishu, Kiambu and finally Bungoma County.
